About me

My Biography

Dr. Annie Khan was born and raised on the island of Trinidad & Tobago in the West Indies. In her late teens she migrated to Toronto, Canada where she pursued her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Toronto.

Her experience in Canada was initally one of transition and adjustments. She learned how to integrate and navigate a different culture and environment. This experience broadened her understanding of cultural variables and the implications of these on individuals.

Dr. Khan's pursuit of her doctoral degree involved another migration to Chicago, USA to attend The Adler School of Professional Psychology. This too was another adjustment and further heightened Dr. Khan's awareness of race and culture within the context of different environments.

Dr. Khan's doctoral training involved working with individuals from low socio-economic statues, to working with the severely mentally ill and finally, with college aged students. All of these experiences afforded Dr. Khan a breath and depth of insight into diversity factors which she naturally integrates into her practice.
